4-H Exhibits

4-H Exhibit Building
Key 4-H Volunteers: Judy Cogger, Brentwood; Joann Brandt, East Kingston; & Lucy Rhodes, Auburn
Rockingham County 4-H members ages 5 through 18 and 4-H clubs are eligible to enter projects made since the 2007 Stratham Fair, earning ribbons and premiums courtesy of the Stratham Fair. Projects made by 4-H members 8 through 18 are judged and awarded either blue, red, or white ribbons based on the quality of work completed. 4-H Cloverbuds ages 5-7 can also enter projects made for a participation ribbon. Projects entered reflect the diversity of interest areas that members pursue in 4-H learn-by-doing projects.
Division areas include:
aerospace; art; child care & babysitting; citizenship; clothing & textiles; crafts & 4-H camp projects; electricity, electronics &computers; entomology, foods & nutrition, food preservation, forestry & conservation, gardening; home arts & needlework arts, health, first aid & safety; home improvement, horsemanship, horticulture, leadership, leisure education, livestock equipment, mechanical sciences (auto, bicycle, small engine, tractor and metal work) photography, outdoor education, fishing & camping; poultry; resumes, records and memory books; and special projects.
Some exhibits require a specific number of items to qualify, so be sure to check the 4-H premium list available from Rockingham County 4-HYouth Development program of UNH Cooperative Extension.
During the fair, there are many special events:
Action Exhibits presented by 4-H members and volunteer leaders
Kids on the Block handicapped awareness puppet programs
Consumer Education Judging Event on Saturday from 10 am – 3:30 pm,
Horticulture Judging Event on Thursday, 1-6 pm.
Kids Coloring Contest for youth ages 4-12. Every child gets a ribbon and a chance to win a 4-H Tshirt for the best coloring.
4-H Friends Spinning Bee will be held Friday from 3-5 pm.
Annual 4-H Benefit Auction on Saturday, from 5-10:30 pm. Have fun and bid high and often on new and slightly used merchandise, gift certificates, hand crafted items, and home baked items.
Be sure to come by the 4-H exhibit building and see the many youth talents that are developed in the fun, learn-by-doing 4-H program as a result of dedicated volunteer leaders. If you have questions, we are there to help you at the 4-H info area.
