Stratham Fair Association’s Pig Scramble

Rules & Regulations

Saturday, 2 pm & Sunday, 3:30 pm, 4-H Livestock Ring

  • Stratham Fair will award the pigs to the contestants who succeed in catching the pig in the allotted time.
  • All contestants must be at least 8 years old and not over 12 on the day of the scramble.
  • The parent or guardian must sign entry certifying entrants will be able to raise the pig.
  • Duplicate entries will not be allowed.
  • Two more entries will be drawn than the number of pigs available, plus 2 alternates.
  • Contestants will have 3 minutes to catch, bag, and tie a pig.
  • Any contestant who touches a pig that another contestant has a hold of will be disqualified and an alternate will take that contestants place.
  • Judges will be assigned to the pigs and their decision will be final.
  • Any pigs not caught in the first 3 minute heat will run in another scramble with new contestants, until all pigs have been awarded.
  • All scramble pigs will be returned to 4-H Swine area, but must be picked up by their new owners, no later than 6 pm Sunday night.
  • Entries will close at noon, Saturday, for Saturday=s scramble.
  • Entries close at 2pm, Sunday, for Sunday=s scramble.
