Adult Home Economics Division

This showcase is open to men and women residing or working in Rockingham County who are at least 19 years old by 1/1/08 and want to exhibit their creative crafts. Any Rockingham County youth not currently enrolled in 4-H who is between the ages 8 through 18, may enter Stratham Fair Baking Competitions Division L, M. For General Rules and Entry Forms write to superintendent or Rockingham County 4-H, UNH Cooperative Extension, 113 North Rd, Brentwood NH 03833.

 4-H youth enter projects made only through the 4-H Department.

 Entry Form must be sent to Louise Knox postmarked by July 15.  Entries postmarked after July 15 will not be accepted. No post entries. Entered items are brought to the 4-H Building at the fair on Wednesday, July 23 from 3-5:30 p.m. and then all items must be picked up on Sunday, July 27th between 7:30-8:30 p.m.

 

GENERAL RULES

  1. Entry forms listing all exhibits must be sent to Louise Knox, postmarked by 7/15. Entries postmarked after 7/15 deadline will not be accepted. NO post entries. Department superintendents reserve the right to refuse any or all articles that can't reasonably qualify for a division or a class.
  2. Work must be completed by exhibitor who is a resident of or working in Rockingham County. The minimum age of exhibitors entering is 19. Any currently enrolled 4-H youth may not enter as their projects are entered/displayed in the 4-H Division. Any youth ages 8 to 19, not currently enrolled in 4-H, may enter in the Stratham Fair Baking Competitions. There is a special senior division for those 70 and older for Divisions A-K, and 50 and older for Divisions L, M, and N, the Stratham Fair Baking Competitions. A special award may also be presented for best made article by a person 70 or older.
  3. Products and articles must represent work completed since last year's Stratham Fair.
  4. Exhibits are shown at exhibitors own risk. We are not responsible for any lost or damaged articles.
  5. All articles must be spotless, in good condition and finished.
  6. Exhibits that spoil may be removed at discretion of the superintendents.
  7. Duplicate entries in a class are not allowed. Example: under division H, clothing-sewing. Only one (1) skirt, or one (1) pants can be exhibited. Choose your best to enter. Different techniques can qualify projects for more than one entry in a class.
  8. Exhibitors are responsible for bringing all entries to the 4-H Grange Building at Stratham Fair on Wednesday, 7/25, from 3-5:30 p.m.
  9. Exhibitor must be prompt in picking up entries exhibited from building on Sunday, 7/29, between 7:30 - 8:30 p.m.
  10. Judging will be done on Wed. evening, 7/25, by the Danish System. Special ribbons for most outstanding work will be given.
  11. Exhibits must be on display for the entire Fair or exhibitor loses premiums and/or ribbons.
  12. Articles exhibited at this year's Stratham Fair may not be exhibited in future Stratham Fairs.

Special rosettes will be awarded to outstanding exhibits based on judges decisions.  Special recognition may also be given to best article made by a person over seventy years young. Top prizes will be awarded in adult and youth/4H divisions in the King Arthur Flour Baking Competition.

  • 3rd place:  King Arthur Flour Tote Bag

Youth/4-H Division:
