Stratham Fair Grange Exhibits

July 24-27, 2008

The Grange is a family fraternal, community service organization with its roots in agriculture. We develop personal leadership skills in our members and strengthen our communities through local involvement. Faith, family, patriotism, and activism are the foundation of our values. We are America's Family Fraternity!

Granges wanting to exhibit should contact Kim or Dan Bascom by July 18.

Awards: $ 75.00 Grand Prize - Exhibit with highest score
$ 60.00 Blue - 90 points and higher
$ 50.00 Red - 79-89 points
$40.00 White - 78 point or lower
   
Exhibits:

Class 1 - The traditional Grange exhibit
Class 2 - An open Grange exhibit which promotes any aspect of Grange work. A Grange may choose either class in which to exhibit.

   
Class 1

Traditional Grange exhibit which may include a theme of your choice.

The exhibit must include:

  1. American Flag and Bible.
  2. Sign with name of Grange and town.
  3. 6 items of handiwork and/or woodworking.
  4. 6 canned goods and/or jelly (must be labeled).
  5. 6 vegetables and/or fruit (3 on a plate).
  6. 1 baked good.
  7. Eggs, flowers and plants may be included.

-     Sign with  Grange's contact person's name, phone and email

   
Class 2

Open Grange exhibit which promotes any aspect of Grange work.

The exhibit must include:

  1. American Flag and Bible.
  2. Sign with the name of the Grange and town.

Judging:
Exhibit conforms to requirements.    20 points
Attracts attention (stopping power).   20 points
Holds interest (encourages study).   20 points
Arrangement of articles exhibited.     20 points
Quality of workmanship (neat and well constructed).     20 points
Total    100 points
   
Rules: 1. Exhibit set up time: 4-8 p.m., Wednesday, July 23, 2008
2. Exhibit take down time: 7:30-8:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 27, 2008
3. Items exhibited must be raised or made by a Grange member of the exhibiting Grange.
4. Vegetables should be clean.
5. Canned goods should follow USDA recommendations and be prepared since August 1, 2007.
